Programme Learning Outcomes

It is intended that by the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  • articulate teaching philosophy of THEi to programme design and module delivery;
  • employ appropriate instructional and assessment strategies to enhance student learning;
  • apply e-learning and innovative pedagogical strategies to enhance learning and teaching; and
  • reflect upon one's teaching philosophy and practice as part of their professional development.

e-Programme Intake


Mode of Delivery

Microsoft Teams Intake

Module 1 to Module 3 will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. A range of activities such as presentation, discussion and demonstration will be used. For Module 4, participants may choose from completing an online assignment in Moodle or arranging a class observation session.

e-Programme Intake

Module 1 to Module 3 are self-paced learning in the TIP e-Programme Moodle Course. Online learning components including video presentations, learning activities and extended learning resources will be provided. For Module 4, participants may choose from completing an online assignment in Moodle or arranging a class observation session.

Completion Requirement

Microsoft Teams Intake

Participants are required to attend Module 1 to Module 3 via Microsoft Teams and complete ONE option in Module 4. A Certificate of Accomplishment will be issued after fulfilling the above requirements.

e-Programme Intake

Participants are required to study the learning materials and complete the Module Quizzes for Module 1 to Module 3 in the TIP e-Programme Moodle Course and complete ONE option in Module 4. A Certificate of Accomplishment will be issued after fulfilling the above requirements.

Module Description

This module provides an overview of programme and module design adopting the concept of outcome-based teaching and learning (OBTL) as a framework and making reference to the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF).

On completion of the module, participants will be able to:

  • articulate the core concepts of outcome-based teaching and learning (OBTL) in programme and module design; and
  • identify the principles of General Level Descriptors (GLD) of HKQF in planning a programme and module.

This module introduces strategies for enhancing student learning in degree programme, in particular students' independent learning capabilities and their development as autonomous and lifelong learners.

On completion of the module, participants will be able to:

  • align teaching and learning activities and assessment methods with intended learning outcomes (ILOs); and
  • select appropriate teaching and learning activities and assessment methods to promote learning.

This module provides an overview of technology enhanced learning (TEL) and blended learning, and explores the adoption of e-Learning and innovative pedagogical strategies to enhance teaching, student learning and collaboration.

On completion of the module, participants will be able to:

  • identify technology enhanced learning (TEL) strategies to promote learning and teaching; and
  • design e-learning activities with different technology enhanced learning (TEL) tools.

This module provides participants with an opportunity to reflect on their own teaching practices. They can choose from:

i. completing an online assignment; or
ii. arranging a class observation.

On completion of the module, participants will be able to:

  • apply OBTL concepts in learning and teaching; and
  • identify strengths and areas for improvement in daily teaching practices.
