About the Series
With the evolving education landscape and rapid advancements in technologies, digital learning and teaching continues to accommodate students' diverse learning needs effectively. Specifically designed for the VTC's teaching and instructing staff, the Teaching with Digital Technology Series (TDT) focuses on student-centred approaches that integrate e-pedagogical principles, instructional design and cutting-edge technologies. It aims to enhance students' and teachers' experience throughout all phases of the learning and teaching journey: “Pre-class”, “In-class” and “Post-class''.
Objectives
The objectives of TDT are to empower and support VTC's teaching and instructing staff in enhancing their effectiveness in digital learning and teaching by providing them with comprehensive knowledge, skills, tools and techniques of digital learning and teaching practices, as well as to keep them abreast of the latest e-pedagogies and trends in digital learning and teaching. By the completion of the series, participants are expected to be more confident and competent in preparing, delivering and designing assessments of their own digital learning and teaching practices.
Structure of the Teaching with Digital Technology Series
The TDT modules are structured into three phases of the learning and teaching journey: “Pre-class”, “In-class” and “Post-class”.
Pre-class Phase: Teachers will develop the essential skills and knowledge to effectively prepare for engaging lessons using a variety of digital tools, as well as developing digital assessments using the Moodle platform.
In-class Phase: Teachers will gain valuable insights on how to adapt their teaching and assessment methods by incorporating cutting-edge technology and enhancing the learning and teaching experience with the latest technology.
Post-class Phase: Teachers will master the use of Moodle Gradebook effectively for digital assessments and utilise the learning analytics tools to boost students' performance.
