A series of TEL training events (seminars and workshops) were offered to VTC teaching staff for professional development.
Most VTC teaching staff were trained on the pedagogies and skills in incorporating TEL applications in their professional teaching.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training hours
were accumulated.
Coping with the global trend in using Virtual and Augmented Reality (VAR) to facilitate learning and teaching, VTC has developed a variety of VAR applications to enrich students' learning experience in different subject areas.

Aircraft Maintenance

Identify defects and damages on an aircraft, perform maintenance works such as wheel change or aircraft towing at aircraft hangar and airport ramp area, while identifying potential safety hazards.

Sensory Challenges of a Child with SEN

VR scenario includes simulated experiences of a child with sensory processing disorder (i.e., under-sensitive and over-sensitive), which is commonly found in children with autism spectrum disorder. The player can experience the difficulties of the SEN child interacting with people and the environment in a simulated kindergarten classroom setting.

Fire incident is one of the critical crises in workplace. Therefore, it is important for students to understand basic precautionary measures to reduce the risk of accidents caused by fire. In VR learning, these no longer exist. The VR welding training is to simulate oneself in a real scene to conduct welding practice under a safe and comfortable environment. VTC@HK IM

Allows students and teachers under the same Moodle course to share thoughts and collaborate interactively through the use of instant messaging, without the need of disclosing sensitive personal information.

VTC TechApp

Help students to learn the terminologies of their studying area. Students can search the terminologies by English or Cantonese, learn the pronunciation of the terminologies and bookmark their favor terminologies.

Communication and interaction between students and teachers were strengthened through the use of VTC@HK IM.
DVE programmes have co-operated in the development of Tech App.
Trade-specific terms were included in the Tech App with graphical illustration and vocal pronunciation in English and Chinese.
Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS) for education providers to support learning and teaching online, customise or further develop it for usage. It is a free software application designed to help educators create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction.

Panopto Lecture Capture System (LCS) is used to record or live broadcast lectures, seminars, conferences, student presentations and activities to enhance effective learning and teaching. The recordings could be edited within Panopto LCS and related content files could be published to students through the Moodle Learning Management System.
