About the Programme

In this season, the Centre for Learning and Teaching has prepared four new titles and one re-run title in the areas of “Enabling e-Learning”, “Enhancing Teaching Skills” and “Professional Development” for all teaching staff.

Every student has different learning styles, it's a good idea for teachers to select appropriate teaching strategies for different types of students. The workshop “Identifying Learning Preference by VARK Modality” enables teachers to realise students' learning preferences by using VARK model to help select appropriate teaching methods to cater for students' learning styles. For teachers who would like to use various closure activities to end a lesson, the workshop “Let's Wrap the Class up!” will help teachers to practise various types of closure activities to enhance students' learning. Teachers may also want to know the strategies of managing a classroom. The workshop “Managing a Classroom of Teenage Learners” will help teachers to explore effective ways to deal with students' misbehaviours in a classroom.   

There are two workshops in the area of “Enabling e-Learning”. The first one is “Using Moodle Assessment Tools for Students' Learning”. Teachers will learn how to create assessment activities on Moodle and generate different types of reports to check students' learning progress. The second one is a re-run workshop “Enlighten Learning and Teaching with an Animation Making Tool”, it enables teachers to create animated video for teaching with PowToon to arouse students' interests and gain students' attention.
