Welcome to Webline. At the beginning of the new academic year, the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) wishes everyone a good start and would like to thank you for your continued support over the years. Webline has been disseminating a broad range of learning and teaching matters to the VTC staff for the past decade. Stepping into our eleventh year, we will further pursuit our commitment to promote excellent learning and teaching in VTC. In addition to the announcement of CLT’s training programmes and workshops, Webline will also provide you with useful learning and teaching resources and current news in education to keep you abreast of the latest development in VET’s learning and teaching. Enjoy and stay connected! Summer slips away quietly without a trace. It is time to gear up for school, time to have a new beginning and time to set goals. With all the expectations and challenges in the new semester, apparently, teachers are just as excited as students about going back to school. To begin with, we would refresh you with some ideas on building rapport with your students and some strategies for communicating to Generation Z in this issue. It also features the recently completed Development Programme for Instructors (DPI) which was piloted in the summer. As Teachers’ Day is near the corner, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to teachers by delivering our specially designed presents to our teachers. Last but not least, some upcoming events will also be introduced.
