Dr Brant Knutzen emphasizes student-centered active learning and the development of a collaborative learning community. In his experience, the facilitation of high levels of collaborative interaction between students is the most effective path to the achievement of desired learning outcomes. Dr Knutzen enjoys working with teachers in the use of instructional technology to enhance their teaching methods, including the delivery of professional development workshops, co-teaching, and the facilitation of blended learning / MOOC projects. His particular area of expertise is the application of social constructivism and situated pedagogy in the context of blended learning environments. He is currently tutoring on a Harvard online short course titled "Certificate in higher education". This professional development programme is designed to update skills and explore reflective teaching methods by adopting a more conscious, collaborative, and refined approach to course design and teaching practice.
