About the Event :

Video is an effective medium to enhance online and blended learning, as such, developing engaging educational video is essential. Through online demonstrations and hands-on practices, this workshop allows participants to work on their own 1-minute course instructional video from scratch. It covers the skills of developing storyboard and scripting, video filming with smartphone device, as well as video editing, adding filters and titles with the free editing software, Clipchamp. The course requires the participants to have a smartphone to capture audio and video. Essential training materials and guidelines would be provided upon the confirmation of enrolment.

The training scope is as follows:

  • Create storyboard and script for pre-production development;
  • Experience in video filming with smartphone device and import the recorded video to computer;
  • Work on the post-production workflow including video editing, adding video filters, titles and audio tracks with “Clipchamp”; and
  • Export project to an appropriate video file format.

Facilitator(s) :

Mr. Ho Ting Shun

Mr. Ho is an experienced video producer, editor and executive producer. Having worked in the TV and video industry for over 15 years with National Geographic Asia, Fox International Channels, Radio Television Hong Kong, and South China Morning Post, he is adept at directing, editing and videography for both long-form and short-form videos, as well as providing video production training for in-house staff.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

Upon completion of the 3-hour workshop, participants will be able to:

  • facilitate a thorough understanding of the basic of digital video production workflow including pre-production, production and post-production; and
  • acquire the essential knowledge of digital video editing tools.
