About the Event :

Receiving new funding granted to a proposed project makes efforts and hard work put in the grant application all worthwhile. But that signals new set of challenges when new project commences. Good project implementation keeps the project delivers output on time and in professional quality. The performance of project implementation not only affects the grant of present project, but it also influences the success of future grant applications.

In the workshop, principles of good project implementation will be discussed. Participants will also learn tips on project strategic planning, process monitoring and team building techniques. Through group discussion/activities, participants will be able to practise the skills of project implementation.

Registered Social Worker; & Part-time Placement Supervisor and Lecturer, Department of Social Work, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Ms Wong Chi Kan is a Registered Social Worker, a Part-time Placement Supervisor and a Lecturer of Department of Social Work of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was the Senior Supervisor of the Community Development Service of Caritas Hong Kong from 1997 to 2018. She is experienced in sourcing grants from various funding schemes to launch new projects and sustain existing services. Ms Wong has also actively participated in different research projects related to community development and the grassroots. Her publications always reflect the service needs of elderly, women and low income families.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

On completion of the workshop, participants would be able to:

  • illustrate the importance of effective team leading skills for project implementation;
  • practise progress monitoring and evaluation methods for projects; and
  • analyse potential risks of project implementation and respective solutions.
