About the Event :

When teachers play the role of a facilitator in the classroom, it helps make learning easier for students. Simulation exercises, case studies, multimedia visuals and role plays are used to facilitate learning and make learning interesting. In this workshop, using an interactive training approach, we will share insights of facilitation as a supplementary skill and provide tips for teachers in using facilitation skills in teaching. There will be an opportunity for participants to practise facilitation skills that would make learning stimulating and student centric.

Director, PGA Consulting Limited

Ms Weelan Ho is the Principal and Director of PGA Consulting Limited (Hong Kong) and the Director of Ascent Global Service Pty Limited (Australia). Weelan brings with her more than 20 years of experience in consulting, training, coaching and organisation development. She is one of the pioneers in Change Management Laboratory in Asia (subsequently renamed as Change Management, Training and Development), and she was trained by experts in the field from America and Europe. The subject matter on Instructional Design, includes developing training strategy, compiling diagnostics surveys using likert scales, structured training needs assessment and development, curriculum planning, training plan and writing training lesson plans. Throughout her career, one of Weelan's roles is to train and develop internal and external consultants as big projects are often collaborative efforts. Weelan also collaborates with the Hong Kong Management Association, and the School of Continuing Studies at the Macau University of Science and Technology. She designs and delivers a number of training programmes for both institutes.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

On completion of this workshop, the participants would be able to:

• select exercises that best relate to the intended learning outcomes and knowledge; and

• practise facilitation and questioning skills to capitalise on students' interests and learning capabilities.
