About the Workshop
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants an introduction to the concept of differentiation of learning. Participants will develop an awareness of learner differences and consider how to differentiate learning in the classroom according to resources, task or support. There will be an opportunity for participants to consider how to differentiate classes for a particular learner context.
Mr Tony Lucas, trainer of the British Council, has over 20 years' experience in English language teaching, having worked with learners of all ages and levels of proficiency. He has specialised in materials writing and teacher development, facilitating workshops for both state and private language school teachers across Europe, South America and recently Asia.
Tony is currently completing an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL with the University of Portsmouth. He is also the co-author of EFL coursebooks that is presently being used by the Portuguese Ministry of Education in schools across Portugal. He has also delivered online teacher development and training in learning programmes for the British Council. Tony is particularly interested in materials development and engaging the learner beyond using the conventional teaching methods and resources in the classroom.
