About the Event :

With advancement in technology across different fields, curricula in many countries have started helping students understand how computing influences the world. Computational Thinking is a fundamental skill useful for all people nowadays. In this seminar, participants will be shown the importance of Computational Thinking and how to prepare their students to be future ready.

Mohammed (Mo) is the UX and Curriculum Director of BSD Code and Design Academy, where he is responsible for leading the technology education curriculum development for online learning platform, mapping global curricula, standards and learning outcomes, professional development training for teachers, designing analytics and metrics for quantifying learning across diverse domains including computer science, mathematics, sciences, social sciences, language, ethics, creativity, entrepreneurship, etc. With a professional background in engineering, entrepreneurship, and education, he is passionate in researching and designing learning ecosystems to foster creativity in individuals and organisations.

Mr Karan Vaswani, Facilitator

Karan is the instructor at BSD Code and Design Academy, where he is responsible for creating content and curriculum for online learning platform, professional development training for teachers, and web & mobile app development. With a professional background in computer science and engineering, he specialises in the development of web applications and the empowerment of teachers to feel more confident using technology.


Intended Learning Outcomes :

On the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:

  1. Define Computational Thinking principles and concepts; and 
  2. Evaluate the importance of Computational Thinking in relation to the workplace of the future.
