About the Event :

An online learning community provides a collaborative and connected environment for students, teachers, educational institutes, and community stakeholders who share common learning goals, knowledge and resources. An effective community serves as a source of support, connection and motivation. In this workshop, we will explore the practical application of learning communities in learning and teaching and we will demonstrate how to set up a game-like learning community using the metaverse platform “Gather”.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• identify the key elements for creating an engaging and effective online community; and
• apply the skills in utilising education technologies, such as “Gather” to build an online learning community.
