About the Event :

Two heads are better than one, and in forming and sustaining learning communities, this adage holds true. Learning communities serve as platforms for students with common goals and attitudes to achieve new heights of excellence.

In this webinar, the speaker shares experience in creating a welcoming environment for students with varied backgrounds, including those from the Mainland and other countries/regions. Through presentations, case studies and discussions, participants will explore and discuss practical strategies, tools and resources that they can apply in supporting personal and professional development of different learning communities.


Facilitator(s) :

Professor YUEN Yuet-mui, Celeste

Professor Yuen is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She lectures in intercultural education, teacher development and leadership, home-school-community collaboration and policy studies, and has authored empirical and policy-related articles and books in these fields. Prof Yuen's research areas include Chinese immigrant and ethnic minority education, policy studies, intercultural youth studies, life satisfaction, spiritual health and school engagement.

Objectives :

The webinar aims to identify common needs and beliefs of students with varied backgrounds. Participants will discuss suitable approaches to forming and sustaining learning communities.
