About the Event :
In daily interactions, people may easily be categorised and judged by membership of a group, gender, age, ethnicity or past experience, which is a common shortcut to assess and predict people's behaviour. This tendency can be a kind of psychological bias, positive or negative. In classrooms, teachers' biases can lead to a negative impact on student-teacher relationships which will hinder the building up of trust as well as the learning and teaching activities.
This workshop is designed to help participants to recognise how the psychological biases affect our thoughts, expression and judgement. By distinguishing presupposition and mindreading, tips on building a positive relationship with students will be shared..
