About the Programme
In this season, the Centre for Learning and Teaching has prepared six re-run titles in the areas of “Enabling e-Learning”, “Enhancing Teaching Skills”, “Professional Development” and “Students' Diverse Needs” for all teaching staff.
An eye-catching animated presentation can help to gain students' attention and engage students' interest. The workshop “Captivate your Audience with an Animated Presentation” enables teachers to create animated video for teaching with PowToon. For teachers who would like to construct a concept map to facilitate discussion on a topic, the workshop “Using Concept Mapping to Enhance Student Learning” will help teachers to realise the usefulness of concept mapping and apply this technique in classroom at different levels. The workshop “Interactive Learning and Teaching Strategies to Engage Students” is designed to support teachers in using interactive learning and teaching strategies to engage students with different learning styles.
There are two workshops on enhancing teachers' professional development. The first one is “Enhancing Skills in Syllabus Writing”. It will equip teachers with skills to develop a well-organised and coherent syllabus. The second one is “Preparing Lessons by using DISC Personality SystemTM”. Teachers will learn how to prepare lessons by applying the behavioural model, DISC personality systemTM to understand the needs of students and better cater for students' needs. For teachers who would like to become more confident in handling students with difficult personalities, the workshop “Handling Students with Difficult Personalities” is designed to provide ideas on how to deal with students' diverse needs.
