About the Programme

In this summer, the Centre for Learning and Teaching has prepared eight workshop titles in the areas of “Enabling e-Learning” and “Professional Development” for all teaching staff.

Although a dizzying number of EdTech tools are available on the market, finding the right tools for enhancing student learning is not as easy as it seems. The workshops “Creating Interactive Learning Activities with Poll Everywhere” and “Using EdTech Tools to Enhance Interaction in Lessons” are designed to support teachers in utilising different EdTech tools to create an interactive learning environment. The workshop “Assessing Students' Learning with Technology Tools for Formative Assessment” will introduce a variety of EdTech tools for formative assessment and discuss how they can be applied to enhance learning and teaching.

An eye-catching animated presentation or a lesson using multimedia tools can help to gain students' attention. In the workshop “Captivate your Audience with an Animated Presentation”, teachers will learn how to create animated video for teaching or presentation. The workshop “DIY Website for Interactive Learning” will equip teachers with the skills to create and design their own educational website with an online freeware. In the workshop “Engaging Students' Learning through Augmented Reality (AR)”, teachers will learn to use various AR tools to create their own gaming activities for learning without needing to write any code.

For teachers who would like to enhance professional knowledge and skills, the workshop “Preparing Lessons by using DISC Personality System^TM” will help teachers understand the behavioural style of students and prepare lessons that can engage students in different styles. A well-crafted story could enhance teachers' relationship with students and motivate them. The workshop “Engaging your Students with Storytelling Skills” will discuss the core elements and structures of stories and share tips on telling a story with appropriate skills.
