About the Programme
In this Season, ten workshop titles in the topic areas of “Enabling e-Learning”, “Enhancing Teaching Skills” and “Professional Development” have been prepared by the Centre for Learning and Teaching. To cope with the increasing needs of using technology to enhance learning, workshops are provided in the topic area of “Enabling e-Learning”. Strategies of using technology to facilitate learning are provided in three new titles, including “Engaging Students Learning with Video Tutorial”, “Planning Teaching and Learning Activities with e-Learning Resources” and “Pedagogies of Using Technology in Learning and Teaching”. Moreover, teachers could enrich knowledge and skills of presentation in their classroom teaching by attending the re-run workshops, “Effective Use of PowerPoint in Teaching” and “Designing Infographic for Effective Learning”.
Questioning and giving feedback are essential teaching skills for learning effectiveness. Join the workshop of “Teacher's Feedback: Lighting the Way Forward” and “Finding Ways to Develop Effective Classroom Questions” so as to learn more about asking questions and providing constructive feedback to articulate higher order thinking. For teachers who want to deliver an intriguing and motivating lesson, the workshop of “Engaging Students in Learning with Gamification” may be an useful one which provides examples on applying the game design elements to engage students in learning.
In the topic areas of “Professional Development”, two re-run titles have been prepared to refresh teachers' knowledge on Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) and skills in reading students' inner self. The workshops are respectively “Implication of Qualifications Framework for Vocational Education and Training” and “Know Your Students through a Simple Picture”.
