About the Programme

In this summer, Center for Learning and Teaching has prepared twelve new workshop titles and one re-run title to teachers. To equip oneself with innovative teaching techniques, workshops on educational software would be introduced in the category “Enabling e-Learning”. The four new titles are “Engage Your Audience with a Dynamic Presentation Tool”, “Develop Eye-catching Graphics for Teaching”, “Creating an Interactive Video with “Zaption”” and “Designing Infographic for Effective Learning”. The re-run title is “Strategies for Using Open and Flexible Educational Resources (OFERs) in Teaching”. Keeping abreast of the latest development of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) would help you to build new communication channels with students.

For teachers who would like to learn more about applying learning and teaching strategies in a regular classroom setting, you may consider to join the workshops under the category “Enhancing Teaching Skills”. The four new titles are “Teaching Preparation Made Simple – Using Pyramid Approach to Develop Lesson Plan”,”Engaging Students Learning with Gamification”, “Finding Ways To Develop Effective Classroom Questions” and “Using VARK in the Classroom”. Understand more on students' needs and preferences would help you to plan for an interactive and engaging lesson.

Apparently, students prefer to learn in an positive learning environment and wish to maintain a positive relationship with teachers. Under the category “Professional Development”, the two new titles are “The Science of Happiness – for Teachers and Students” and “Building Positive Teacher-Student Relationships”, which are tailored to teachers who wish to promote happiness and harmony in their classroom.

Last but not least, effective learning should be evident in students' performance. Therefore, two assessment methods are introduced under the category “Assessment”. Teachers would gain insights on how to engage and assess students through project and portfolio by attending the two new titles “Engaging Students Learning with Project” and “Assessing Student Learning with Portfolio”.
