About the Programme

The Centre for Learning and Teaching has prepared twelve workshop titles for this season in the areas of “Enhancing Teaching Skills”, “Professional Development” and “Enabling e-Learning”. New titles are offered to discuss most-talked issues in the VET sector. Teachers who are interested in an overview of the Germany's dual system of VET may find the workshop of “Introduction to the Germany's Dual System of Vocational Education and Training” useful and informative. “Engaging Students@Moodle – Tips & Tricks” is a new workshop to equip teachers with basic understanding of the principles of designing online courses and provide a bunch of tips and tricks on using Moodle. The workshop of “Using Concept Mapping to Enhance Student Learning” introduces the application of concept maps in learning and teaching.

Some re-run titles are available for teachers who would like to strengthen themselves in the aspects of teaching skills, professional knowledge and e-learning techniques.

Understanding our students is one of the ways to enhance teaching quality. The workshops of “Know Your Students through Personality Dimensions”, “Communicating with Generation Z” and “How to Build an Effective Teacher-Student Relationship?” will provide opportunities for teachers to explore different ways to build positive teacher and student relationship and learn new perspectives of understanding our students. “Using Six Modes of Thinking to Structure a Lesson” introduces new tool of thinking process in planning for a class. To spice up presentations, teachers could join the workshops of “Effective Use of PowerPoint in Teaching” and “Prezi: Your Presentation in Another Way (Present with Prezi)” for techniques in creating interactive PowerPoint or Prezi to facilitate teaching.

To keep abreast of the latest development of the Qualifications Framework (QF) in Hong Kong, teachers are welcome to attend the workshop of “Implication of Qualifications Framework for Vocational Training” in which implication of QF in vocational training will be explored.

With the growth of e-learning, the workshops “Flip the Classroom” – Enable Interactive Classroom with Video Resources” and “Turning Mobile Phones to Clickers for Instant Response and Interactive Delivery” are recommended for teachers who wish to get familiar with e-Learning strategies . Through interactive activities and hands-on practice, teacher will be equipped with the handful skills of using various kinds of e-Learning tools.

Please note that all online enrolment will be closed 3 days before the workshop commences. If you missed any designated online enrolment time, please download the enrolment form, complete and fax it to CLT.

As the seats of the individual workshop are limited, seats will be allocated on a “first-come, first-served” basis. A maximum of 3 enrolments will be offered to each teaching staff for this season's programme workshop. Applicants will be notified of their enrolment status in separate e-mails.
