Non-local Learning Programmes

Programme General Description (Summary of projects)

The Non-local Learning Programmes (NLP) (top-up degree programmes) collaboratively offered by the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) and prestigious universities in the UK, Australia, Mainland China and Hong Kong are pitched at Level 5 of Qualifications Framework (QF). The CLT has a dedicated team to provide support on the NLP accreditation exercises and related matters to the Programme Coordinators and Module Teachers of these programmes.

For enquiry, please contact Ms. Annie LAU at 2836-1312 or lau_annie@vtc.edu.hk.

  • We provide training and consultation to support the preparation of NLP accreditation exercises with the following roles and responsibilities:

    1. Provide training to SHAPE Programme Co-ordinators and Writers of the Programme Validation documents on QF level determination, justifications for claimed QF level with reference to the Generic Level Descriptors (GLDs) and the inter-relationship among POs, PLOs and MLOs
    2. Review deliverables pertaining to the mappings of Programme Learning Objectives (PLOs) to Programme Objectives (POs) and PLOs to GLD Level 5
    3. Provide training to SHAPE Programme Co-ordinators and Module Teachers on the way of responding to frequently asked questions on QF level determination, POs, PLOs, MLOs and other related teaching and learning matters

To cater for the forthcoming NLP accreditation exercises, CLT organises training sessions and consultations from time-to-time. This is to support colleagues from programmes of subject areas/disciplines where NLP accreditations are scheduled to be conducted. The target subject areas/disciplines include Art and Design, Applied Science, Information Technology and Engineering.

  • Starting from AY 2010-11, we have provided training sessions and consultation support for SHAPE Programme Coordinators and Module Teachers from 64 programmes in the subject areas/disciplines of Art and Design, Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Hotel/Tourism Management and Engineering.
