About the Series
With rapid changes in the learning environment as well as the educational technologies, ‘blended learning' has been becoming an effective approach to accommodate diverse learning styles of students with added values through both face-to-face and online platforms. The Instructional Design Practices of Blended Learning Series is student-centred and designed for all VTC teaching and instructing staff who would like to integrate e-pedagogical principles, instructional design and viable technologies to enhance learning and teaching in the pre-class, in-class and post-class phases.
Objectives
The objectives of the Instructional Design Practices of Blended Learning Series are to equip VTC's teaching and instructing staff with knowledge, skills, tools and techniques in applying blended learning practices in teaching, particularly in the digital delivery and assessment in their own teaching contexts, as well as to keep abreast of the latest e-pedagogies online.
Structure of the Blended Learning Series
The Instructional Design Practices of Blended Learning Series equips and supports teachers in developing confidence in their ability to teach blended learning courses. It is divided into 3 learning and teaching phases as “Pre-class”, “In-class” and “Post-class”.
Pre-class phase: teachers will learn how to get well prepared for the effective blended learning courses.
In-class phase: teachers will learn how to implement a blended learning course and engage students with online and face-to-face learning.
Post-class phase: teachers will learn how to design and conduct digital assessment in Moodle, and also use the learning analytics tools to analyse students' performance.
