Rebranded from and building upon the formerly well-received Artificial Intelligence in Education Series, the AAIES is a learning series designed as the next step following the AITP. It serves those who aim to progress from foundational implementation to critically evaluating and designing AI-enhanced learning experiences, thereby preparing the participants to take on a more proactive role in AI in education. Unlike the structured, mandatory AITP, the AAIES is a flexible series comprising intermediate to advanced‑level modules from which participants can choose to attend based on their specific professional interests and development goals.
Aims and Objectives
The objectives of the AAIES are to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to synthesise and evaluate AI technologies within complex pedagogical and institutional contexts, moving from analysis to the formulation of evidence-based integration strategies, and to empower participants to lead the design and implementation of AI-enhanced learning and teaching initiatives that address specific educational challenges and foster better learning outcomes.
Intended Learning Outcomes
The Series Intended Learning Outcomes are as follows: 1. formulate judgements on AI integration in pedagogy by synthesising the technology’s capabilities, trends, ethical implications, and institutional strategic goals; 2. evaluate and advocate for the educational value of AI‑integrated pedagogical approaches for better learning outcomes; 3. evaluate and align AI-enhanced teaching, learning, and assessment with institutional guidelines and quality standards; and 4. design and refine innovative curricula and implementation plans that leverage AI to advance educational quality and model responsible adoption.

The series consists of four modules that aim at updating teachers with the latest e-pedagogical principles and educational technologies, enabling them to create engaging teaching materials that captivate learners at every stage of their learning journey.

The Series Intended Learning Outcomes are as follows: 1. identify the up-to-date e-pedagogies to enhance teachers' confidence and competencies in implementing digital learning and teaching; and 2. utilise the latest EdTech in designing, preparing and delivering effective online and offline teaching.

Moodle has been used as the VTC's learning management platform for years. Tailored specifically for VTC's teaching and instructing staff, the Moodle Mastery Series (MMS) comprises e-pedagogical principles, instructional design and Moodle-specific content central to student learning. MMS not only empowers teachers with the skills to harness Moodle's features but also promotes effective teaching methodologies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

The aim and objective of the MMS is to equip VTC's teaching and instructing staff with practical skills that enhance digital pedagogy and student engagement through the effective use of Moodle.

The Series Intended Learning Outcomes are as follows: 1. create engaging interactive activities and effective digital assessments using Moodle's features; and 2. utilise Moodle's Gradebook and learning analytic tools to monitor students' performance and enhance their learning experiences.

Project-based Learning (PBL) is regarded as one of the major strategies of learning and teaching for the delivery of skills-based training across various Disciplines and learning programmes. A PBL-enriched curriculum enables students to develop key competencies in Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) and 21st century skills. The practical and authentic learning and teaching practices achieved with PBL further strengthens and promotes VPET.

Research benefits teaching and students' learning experiences. Research-informed teaching (RiT) takes different forms and has become a common practice in higher education. In the fast-changing society of the 21st century, keeping abreast of up-to-date knowledge and trends is key to success in the field of education. Through research design, data collection and analysis, findings discussion and presentation, RiT engages teachers and students in systematic inquiry activities in the learning and teaching process. The process of doing research not only enriches learning and teaching strategies, but also builds important transferable skills that are useful for education articulation and subsequent career development both in the academic and work environment. The Research Skills Training (RST) Series invites experienced academics and research experts from different fields and areas to deliver training to strengthen the research capability and culture within the VTC.

Workplace Learning and Assessment (WLA) aims to enhance trainees' capabilities and readiness for transition from school to work through learning and assessment in collaboration with employers in an authentic workplace to ensure trainee performance meets industry requirements. To facilitate the smooth operation of WLA, a web-based system is established for use by the relevant parties. The "Workplace Learning and Assessment (WLA) Web-based System Training Series" is co-developed and delivered jointly by CLT and ITO to equip WLA Coordinators, VTC Teaching and Instructing Staff with knowledge and skills in utilising the system.

The objectives of the series are to introduce the WLA web-based system to the WLA Coordinators, and VTC Teaching and Instructing Staff, and enable them to use the system effectively. Good practices of utilising the system from various disciplines will be also shared.
