About the Event :

This workshop helps teachers look at what stops students participating actively, different ways to motivate students will be discussed and techniques for adding interest to even the driest topics. The methods and activities are designed to be fun, involve little preparation and set up time and can be adapted for many teaching contexts, subjects and class sizes.

Facilitator(s) :

Mr Daniel Barlow, Teacher Trainer

Daniel Barlow has over 20 years' experience in language and communication skills training and has been teaching and training in Hong Kong since 2000. Specialising in content and language integrated learning (CLIL) techniques, Daniel has extensive experience designing delivering teacher training to tertiary teachers from Taiwan, Hong Kong CLIL techniques, Daniel has extensive experience designing delivering teacher training to tertiary teachers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China.


Intended Learning Outcomes :

On the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. identify techniques to motivate students for answering questions and working on tasks;

2. break up lectures with quick and fun review activities using target language; and

3. apply in-class teaching strategies to keep students involved and attentive.
