About the Event :

Group work is one of the strategies used by many teachers and there are sound educational reasons for organising students to work in groups. Whilst the assessment of group work can play a major part in the learning process, it is often this aspect of group work which most concerns many teachers.

This workshop aims to provide a range of options for assessment practices designed to address issues in assessing group work. Through a mixture of discussion and activities, participants are encouraged to exchange ideas and share their experiences on assessing group work with their colleagues in the workshop.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

On completion of the workshop, participants would be able to:

  • evaluate assessment design for group work based on the assessment principles; 
  • discuss major issues involved in the assessment of group work; and 
  • reflect on own practice in assessing student learning with group work.
