About the Event :

Apart from face-to-face teaching, on-line video is one of the supplementary resources to enhance students' learning. In this training, the participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of movie creation and editing. Hands-on experience in creating instructional videos as well as converting existing materials as part of the video will also be provided. Finally, some tips and tricks for designing education videos will be shared by the facilitator.

Facilitator(s) :

Mr. Andrew Tsang was the Senior Solutions Engineer of Adobe Systems for six years, and was a Creative Trainer in Apple Store Hong Kong. Currently, Andrew is a part-time Visiting Lecturer in one of the Universities in Hong Kong (since 1999) and recently established the online training system. He is a part-time Instructor of Advanced Printing Technology Centre (APTEC); a qualified Instructor of the “Manpower Development Scheme” and “Skills Upgrading Scheme” (by The Employees Retraining Board). He is a professional trainer with more than 20 years of teaching experience in photo-retouching, graphics design, typography, page layout, prepress, print/digital publishing and video production. He teaches and trains Adobe, Apple, and QuarkXPress applications on both Macintosh and Windows platforms for commercial customers (advertising agencies, newspaper/magazine/financial/schoolbook publishers), government departments and educational institutes. He is also an active speaker for Adobe events, Quark events, educational institutes, & user groups.

Recently, Andrew focuses more on consultation, supports, train-the-trainer and teaching on digital publishing and e-Learning production. His knowledge and skill on Adobe products has been officially recognised by the Adobe Systems Incorporated as an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), and Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) since 1998.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

Upon the completion of the workshop, the participants would be able to:

• identify the workflow for producing a video;

• create instructional videos by using VSDC Video Editor; and

• apply some of the tips and tricks for making effective videos during hands-on practice.
