About the Event :

Nowadays, educators and practitioners often engage in grant seeking process for new project development and existing project sustainability. Various funding schemes supporting different target communities and themes are available. Having good proposal writing skills and respective preparation work done before submitting a grant application are essential for securing the grant application.

During the workshop, the facilitator will share the latest trend of grant/funding application and provide participants with preparation tips prior to writing the application. Writing skills and common mistakes will also be pointed out. Through the group discussion/activity, participants will be able to practise the skills of grant application.

Facilitator(s) :

Ms Wong Chi Kan is a Registered Social Worker, a Part-time Placement Supervisor and a Lecturer of Department of Social Work of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She had served as the Senior Supervisor of the Community Development Service of Caritas Hong Kong from 1997 to 2018. She is experienced in sourcing grants from various funding schemes to launch new projects and sustain existing services. Ms Wong has also actively participated in different research projects related to community development and the grassroots. Her publications always reflect the service needs of elderly, women and low income families.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

On completion of the workshops, participants would be able to

− identify the trend of grant application;

− describe the preparation work required for grant application; and

− practise the skills of grant application.
