This workshop aims to enhance participants' knowledge for identifying the cultural backgrounds of students from different ethnicities, as well as the in-group differences emerged within the same ethnic group. Participants will know more about the general profile of Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) people in Hong Kong, such as customs, diets, languages and religions; as well as the challenges and the obstacles faced by NCS people in social life, education and employment.

Participants will also review and reflect on their communication skills with students of diverse cultural and ethnical backgrounds. By illustrations of local real cases, participants will realise more about the actual situation when students from various cultural backgrounds interact with each other.
