About the Event :

This workshop aims to introduce the concept of PERMA Model* and explore ideas of building positive classrooms. PERMA model was developed by Martin Seligman in 2002, which identifies five core elements* of psychological wellbeing and happiness. It can be applied to help teachers build a positive classroom and create activities to help students ‘learn better, feel better and do better”.

*PERMA Model:

P – Positive Emotion, E – Engagement, R – Positive Relation, M – Meaning, A – Accomplishment

Intended Learning Outcomes :

On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

identify the key elements of the PERMA model; and

discuss feasible ways to develop a positive learning culture in the classroom for promoting effective learning.
