About the Event :

Mastering curation skills can help one amplify communication skills across various platforms and enhance the ability to convey ideas and messages with impact. This seminar will be divided into two parts:

1. Seminar by Ms Akina Fong
2. Professional Sharing by Ms Barie Lin, Acting Senior Lecturer (IVE/ST)

Ms Akina Fong

Ms Akina Fong joined TVB as a senior reporter in 2006 and took the role as a news anchor in 2007. She was a regular anchor for the revamped week-night “News Roundup” — the highest rating news programme on TVB Jade. Akina embarked on a fresh career at the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in April 2012 as Senior Press Information Officer. During her public relations career, she contributed plentiful time on digital and social media platforms. In 2014, Akina kicked off her new endeavor to engage in TV and radio programme hosting, teaching at various local universities as a part-time lecturer, and joining consultancy companies as a senior consultant.

Objectives :

This seminar aims to

• explain fundamental techniques to craft and create persuasive narratives and compelling stories;
• enhance the ability to convey ideas and messages in an impactful way;
• equip staff with the skills to curate captivating content for teaching materials and delivery; and
• provide a deeper understanding of the application of curation skills to teaching materials development.
