About the Event

The speakers have recently conducted a pilot study of using ChatGPT as a teaching tool for software engineering education and presented a paper on the study in 16th International Symposium on Advances in Technology Education for Engineering Education After Corona (ISATE 2023).

The study aims to investigate whether ChatGPT improves academic performance of students, reduces the workload of educators in the preparation of teaching and learning materials, and enhances student satisfaction of the teaching delivery.

During the webinar, the speakers will present the findings of their pilot study. They will share both qualitative and quantitative results of the study, along with illustrative examples and directions for potential future research on AI in education.

Objectives

The aim of this webinar is to provide participants with an understanding of ChatGPT's effectiveness as a tool to support teaching in software engineering education.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to develop basic knowledge of how ChatGPT can be used as a pedagogical resource to increase teaching efficiency. Specifically, the webinar will explore the value and usefulness of employing ChatGPT to assist teaching and instructing staff in their teaching roles. The participants will be expected to gain actionable insights into how they can effectively integrate generative AI techniques into their own teaching practices.
