About the Event :

Design Thinking provides means for thinking outside the box, and its incorporation into teaching enhances pedagogical effectiveness in complicated, multi-faceted and trans-disciplinary topics. This workshop will introduce Design Thinking and how it can facilitate students in discovering knowledge, project values and creative solutions through exploration. It focuses on embedding Design Thinking into teaching and project design, with sharing and discussion of authentic examples of using Design Thinking to teach language, engineering and marketing.

Dr Philip Fung

Dr Philip Fung is a popular speaker, executive coach and trainer in Hong Kong. He has more than 30 years of experience in human resources management and leadership development. He is also a specialist in design thinking and has advised public and private companies to adopt design thinking in developing new products and services.

Intended Learning Outcomes :

Upon the completion of the workshop, the participants would be able to:

• identify the use of Design Thinking approach in teaching and facilitating various types of student projects; and
• adopt appropriate Design Thinking strategies to enhance creativity in student projects.
